HQ Build-Out: Episode 3

In this episode, I walk you through the wall prep in all its unglamorous detail, the hammered-copper gate reveal (genuinely exceeded expectations — one coat of Rust-Oleum and I was standing there, a little stunned), and the new window treatments.

HQ Build-Out: Episode 3

Week two is done. The walls are starting to fight back less.

This week was heavy on prep work — the kind that's easy to underestimate until you're three hours into patching a crack that runs floor to ceiling. We hit the main wall hard: concrete polyurethane filler, mesh tape, multiple coats of compound, and more sanding than anyone should have to do on a Tuesday. It doesn't make for glamorous footage, but it matters.

The payoff came when that first coat of primer went on. The space changed. You could actually start to see what this place is going to be.

In this episode, I walk you through the wall prep in all its unglamorous detail, the hammered-copper gate reveal (genuinely exceeded expectations — one coat of Rust-Oleum and I was standing there, a little stunned), and the new window treatments. $500 in Polygal panels, a favor from a friend named Don, and no more curtains collecting dust on tension rods. Good trade.

Week three: more coats of paint, caulking, and we keep moving.

Watch the video below, drop your thoughts in the comments, and if you have strong opinions about whether we need a second coat on those gates, now's your chance. If your idea requires real money, we'll put it on the list for HQ 2.0. Unless, of course, you want to make a little donation to the cause.
