HQ Build-Out: Episode 4
This week: hammered copper gates finished, walls painted, and two Facebook Marketplace scores that saved us close to $10k. Plus a peek inside the office.
60-plus hours of painting and counting. But it's starting to look like something.
This week was heavy on paint and light on glamour, which is pretty much how renovations go. The hammered copper gates are completely finished, and they look absolutely gorgeous. The front wall is painted out in that deep blue-black, and you can finally see how everything is going to come together. We also made a couple of killer Facebook Marketplace scores that saved us somewhere in the neighborhood of $8,000 to $10,000. Not bad for a week's work.
In this episode, I walk you through all of it — the gates, the painted walls, a set of solid wood cabinets that were basically stolen at $650, a pair of vintage science lab cabinets that are becoming the world's coolest whiskey sample storage, and a peek inside the office now that there's actually furniture in it. I also share my door obsession, which you'll either understand immediately or think I've lost my mind.
We're shooting for a grand opening by the end of September, just in time to close out Bourbon Heritage Month. More on that soon.
Watch the video below, drop your thoughts in the comments — especially if you have an opinion on what I should do with the exposed stud walls in the office — and share this with anyone who's into bourbon, build-outs, or both.
