Replay: Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. Virtual Tasting
Last night, John Wadell joined us from Peerless for a virtual tasting, and if you've never met John, the guy could talk bourbon for six hours straight, and you'd want a seventh. Been with Peerless since before there was a product to taste, and that kind of history shows up in how he talks about the place.
Quick background for anyone new: Henry Craver started this distillery back in 1889, Prohibition shut it down, and a hundred years later, his great-grandson Corky Taylor and Corky's son Carson, brought it back, gutting an old tobacco warehouse on Whiskey Row in downtown Louisville themselves. Everything happens on site. Strictly sweet mash, no sourcing, barrel-entry proof around 107, no chill-filtering. Small batches, real intent.
Here's what we tasted.
